Loudness equalization is a very important factor if you are watching any video or listing a song.
Most of us don’t even know why and how to use loudness equalization in windows 10 until we feel unusual loudness in videos.
I was facing the same problem, the sound was not that pleasant, so I enhanced the sound, and it is working pretty well.
In this post, I am going to share all the software you can use to equalize the loudness and all the possible reason and solutions.
1. Troubleshoot the no sound/low sound.
Troubleshooting is the primary step you have to take if you are not getting any sound or it’s showing the low volume of the other software sounds.
Let’s do it step by step to fix the low volume or no sound.
a) Fix Communication.
In windows 10, it’s an automated feature to adjust the volume of the different sounds if you are using your computer for telephone calls.
Steps to remove automated communication Feature.
- Take your cursor on the sound icon.
- Do a right-click on the sound icon.
- Click on Sound option.
- After this, you will get a sound window.
- Click on communication tab.
- Select Do nothing.
- Click Apply and OK.
b) Troubleshoot for No sound
No sound means you are not getting any sound from your computer and you are getting the red x on the sound icon.
Steps to fix no sound:
- Take your cursor on the sound icon.
- Do a right-click on the sound icon.
- It will start scanning your computer.
- Select your speaker option.
- It will check your audio status.
- If you are a Desktop user, then it asks you to connect external peripherals if there is no speaker on the desktop.
- Once it’s done, it will show fixed or the things you need to solve and fix.

2. Loudness equalization Enhancement.
Loudness equalization in windows 10 is the option which I recommend to everyone.
By Enhancing the sound, you will get the best output from any video or the song you listen.
In the sound equalization option, I suggest try “boost bass” option. It will surely take you to the next level of listening music and watching videos.
Steps to equalize the loudness in windows.
- Click on window’s icon or Cortana icon ( left bottom corner).
- Type “sound.”
- Open it.
- Select the Devices configured with your computer.
- As I have Boat Rockers. So I am opening boat Rockers configuration and you have to select your devices.
- Click on Properties.
- Now you will get a window with your device name.
- Click the Enhancement tab.
- Select two option: “Bass Boost” and “Loudness Equalization.”
- Now click Apply and OK.
3. Install and update the sound driver.
Drivers are the most important parts of a computer. It used as a bridge of communication between hardware and Operating system.
In windows 10, most of the driver comes per-installed, but sometimes it gets corrupted or removed by a virus or uninstalled by us.
Here are the steps to search the drivers and install on our computer.
a) Install driver Manually
- Click on windows icon or Cortana icon ( bottom left corner).
- Type “Device Manager.”
- Open it.
- Double click on “sound video and game controllers” driver.
- Now select your driver and do a right-click.
- Click on Update drivers.
- Now you get a pop-up window on, ” How do you want to search for a driver?”
- Click on ” Search automatically for updated driver software”.
- It starts scanning and installs the driver.
If installing a driver manually does not work, then you can use the driver installing software to install the driver on your computer.
Here are the steps to use driver max to install the driver.
b) Install driver via software.
- Click the link below to download driver max software.
- One’s it downloaded.
- Double click on Drivermax.exe.
- It shows you the screen about your PC and last scan result.
- You have to click on “Scan for driver updates Now.”
- It asks you to activate drivermax software, but you can click “Back to the drivemax free.”
- After this, it starts the scanning and shows you the driver you have to install.
- Select your driver and Install it in your PC.

4. Check Hardware.
I know you may be thinking why I am suggesting you check your hardware, but we have read lots of answers where the user was using a defective hardware piece, and by changing it, the problem got fixed.
It’s like you are listing music and using a headset, but 3.5mm jack wire is not working.
Now the question comes in mind that what can you do to check your hardware.
- First, check the computer jack with your other headphone or headset.
- Now plug your headset in your phone or any other device where you can use the headset to listen the sound.
- If the handset works on your phone or on other computer, that means your headset is working fine.
- If it does not work, then you can opt for drivers.
5. Roll Back Drivers.
If your sound equalization was working fine before you updated your computer, then I think you should have to roll back your drivers.
Here are the steps to roll back the drivers.
- Click on the Windows icon or the Cortana icon ( bottom left corner).
- Type device manager.
- Open it.
- Double click on “Sound video and game controllers.”
- Do a right-click on your selective driver.
- Click on property.
- Now you will get a window with your driver name.
- Click on “Driver” tab.
- Click on “Roll Back Driver.”
- Once you click on Rollback driver, it will ask your permission that are you sure about rolling back driver to previously installed driver.
- Click yes and restart your computer.
6. Sound driver in Program files.
If the loudness equalization is not working in your windows 10 PC, then you can check your drivers from program files.
- Press and hold windows icon and press “E” on your keyboard.
- In windows 10, you have to click on “This PC” on the left side of the windows.
- Now double click on “Local Disk (C:).
- Click on Program Files.
- Click on Realtek, audio folder, and HDA folder.
- Double click on “RtIUpd64” to check the driver.
Direct common to open it. Just copy and past in top bar.
C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA
7. Playing Video Online but No sound.
- First, Restart your computer and check if it works.
- Second, you have to check. The video is not working on the browser you are playing, or it’s not working on other browsers too.
- Third, you can turn off all the extension installed in your browser to check if they are causing the problem.

- Update your browsers.
- Install the latest version of Adobe flash player and do not forget to uncheck the optional offers.
If this will fix your problem, then you are good to go; otherwise, you can opt for to option given above.
